Buckingham Foundation, the nonprofit partner of Buckingham Companies, is dedicating 325 volunteers to a half day of community involvement at over 35 nonprofit organizations for the first-ever Buckingham Day of Service. The company itself is closing headquarters and all 42 property locations at 1 PM on November 21 to send their team members to various organizations throughout the community to volunteer time in supporting their causes.
“Buckingham Foundation has granted more than two million dollars to local nonprofits and spent over 6,500 hours each year volunteering throughout the community,” comments Theresa Rhodes, director of Buckingham Foundation. “We’ve accomplished so much the past 10 years, but we know we can do so much more. Buckingham Day of Service will not only impact the communities we build in, but also our team members who want to serve. We are motivated and ready for action!”
Buckingham Companies’ headquarters are in Indianapolis, and has apartment communities throughout the U.S. For Buckingham Day of Service, team members will be sent to designated nonprofits throughout the areas they are located in. Indianapolis employees had the opportunity to choose from 13 different organizations to spend the afternoon serving, including Back on My Feet, Horizon House, School on Wheels, Shepherd Community Center, and more. Buckingham Foundation’s team located other nonprofits for non-Indianapolis employees to serve. These organizations include, Eastern Area Community Ministries in Louisville, Ky., Habitat for Humanity in Peoria, Ill., Nashville Rescue Mission in Nashville, Tenn., and many more.
“Community involvement is a core value of our company. I’m proud and excited about the work Buckingham Foundation does and the impact our team will have during one single day of volunteerism throughout the areas Buckingham Companies has a presence,” said Buckingham Companies CEO and President Bradley Chambers.
