Buckingham Cares: Resident Events

During 2020, Buckingham Foundation has been focused on being a positive force for our community during the Coronavirus pandemic. The foundation team has been focused on three areas: Community Impact, Employee Assistance and Resident Appreciation. Our focus on Resident Appreciation started with our three Foundation properties, Foster’s Landing, Cottages of Anderson and Bradford Run, where we created resident events to show our love and support during this challenging time. Theresa Rhodes, Christina Bledsoe and Becca Manolov were onsite to catch the excitement!

“Early Bird” Property Manager, Diana O’Keefe, was picking up fresh produce from project partners, Landess Farms and South Main Street Fruit Market, at 7 am on July 16th to prepare for our first Community Farmer’s Market. More than 50% of the residents showed up with their bag to select corn, cucumbers, potatoes and more. All the residents were excited to find peaches and receive Diana’s homemade Peach Tea Recipe. Thank you to Mike Thompson and Brian Hartley from the Cottages of Anderson team and Diana’s family for making this event a huge success! Buckingham Foundation continued to host Community Farmer’s markets in Anderson, Indiana throughout July.

The Foundation Team ventured over to New Castle, Indiana to celebrate our residents at Foster’s Landing. With a theme of “You Brighten Our Day,” residents were able to participate by painting on the wall of caring and enjoy shaved ice. Amy Grubbs and Tim Leslie love to highlight The Art of Living and interact with every resident. As a special treat, residents received $50 off their electrical bill in the month of August compliments of Buckingham Foundation. They also accepted energy efficient light bulbs compliments of REMC, glow sticks and bubbles as THANK YOU for lighting up our lives.

We wrapped up the final Buckingham Cares resident event with the amazing team at Bradford Run. Theresa Rhodes shared, “It was heartwarming to see the team interact on a personal basis with their residents. So many of our Buckingham associates were mentioned by name and recognized for leading with care, compassion and integrity.”

Event attendees enjoyed a delicious BBQ meal prepared by the team, selected school supplies from our very own Rosey Morgan and played some corn hole on the newly designed Buckingham Foundation boards. It is very clear the team is “all in” offering an exceptional resident experience.
